Overall Review: Avoid motherboards with JMicron components at all costs, including this one. The only workaround is to disable the controller. Second, if you have the JMicron controller enabled you will have to press a key *every time you boot the system*. If you plug one in, you will not be able to eject the drive tray. First, it does not support SATA CD drives, but that fact is not documented anywhere obvious. The Intel controller (yellow) works perfectly, but the JMicron controller (purple) is extremely poor quality. The board has two disk controllers: the Intel ICH9R controller and a JMicron PATA/eSATA controller.

Definitely upgrade to F2 or F3 with this board. All components work out of the box in recent Linux kernels.Ĭons: Memtest failed consistently out of the box due to a BIOS problem. Glad I spent the extra money on this board. Overall Review: Am going to wait to OC the E6850 and 4gb of Corsair Dom 1066 until I get about 50 hrs of run time on the board.
